Registration and Information Desk

If you need information about any aspect of the Conference, please go to the Registration and Information Desk. The desk will be in the Exhibition Area, Queenstown Events Centre, except on Tuesday, when the desk will be located in the Atrium on Level 3 of the Crowne Plaza Queenstown. The desk will be open at the following times:

For those registrants who have reserved hotel accommodation through The Conference Company, please ensure that accounts are settled in full prior to your departure and that the appropriate deposit has been deducted from your account. If you need to change or amend your accommodation reservation, please contact the Registration & Information Desk and the staff will contact the hotel for you.

Airport Transport 

The airport is only 15 minutes from the CBD. Taxis are available at all times of the day from the front of the airport terminal.


Super Shuttle offers a shared ride option. The shuttles operate from the Shuttle rank at the airport (not the taxi rank). Bookings can be made on the Super Shuttle website


A taxi fare from the airport to the city centre is around $35. Queenstown Taxis, Green Cabs and Corporate Cabs all offer a meet and greet service. To access this service you will need details of your arrival (date of arrival in Queenstown, flight number, arrival time and number of passengers) and they will arrange for the driver to meet you at the “Meet & Greet” area in the Arrivals Hall. He or she will have a sign-board with your name on it.

With September being early Spring, the average temperature sits between 8°C and 22°C and longer sunshine hours mean longer days at that time of the year.

The NZPF Principals’ Conference, including the Conference Organisers, will not accept liability for the damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons for loss or damage to their personal property as a result of the NZPF Principals’ Conference, its exhibition and/or related events. All details contained on this App are subject to change.


Dress for all sessions is smart casual. The dress code for each social function is listed on the Social Events page.

Duplication, Recording

Photography, audio taping, video recording, digital taping or any other form of duplication is strictly prohibited in the session rooms.


The Exhibition Area is located adjacent to the Plenary Room, and will be open during the following times:

Wednesday 20 September     0730 – 1430
Thursday 21 September         0730 – 1700
Friday 22 September               0800 – 1400 

The Exhibition Area will be closed during keynote sessions.

Your Conference name badge will include a barcode that can be scanned by exhibitors when you visit their stands. This will enable exhibitors to capture your contact information for follow up after the Conference. If you visit an exhibitor’s stand, you are not required to have your name badge scanned, unless you give permission.

General Election - Saturday 23 September

The New Zealand General Election will take place on Saturday 23 September. If you are planning to be in Queenstown (or away from your home) on Saturday 23 September, after the Conference ends, you may need to cast a special vote in the NZ General Election. You can vote in any voting location on election day, whether in your home area or not, or you can cast your vote in advance of the Conference. Voting opens two weeks prior to the election. Information about special votes can be found on the Electoral Commission's website


Complimentary Wi-Fi will be available throughout the venue for the duration of the conference and can be accessed by selecting the ‘NZPF Conference 2017’ network on your device and entering the password: NZPF2017


Name badges will be given to all delegates at registration. We ask that you wear your badge at all times. To ensure easy identification please refer to the following key for lanyards:

  • Black lanyards – Delegates
  • Green lanyards – Business Partners, Exhibitors and Sponsors
  • Blue lanyards – Conference Committee and Speakers

Medical Services

Delegates should arrange their own medical and dental insurance cover.

Emergency medical services are available on a 24 hour, 7 days at the Lakes District Hospital Queenstown Emergency Department, located at 20 Douglas Street, Frankton, Queenstown, telephone: +64 3 441 0015.

Alternatively, Queenstown Medical Centre is a walk in service (no appointment necessary) providing accident and medically acute services. They are located at 9 Isle Street, Queenstown, telephone: +64 3 441 0500. Their hours are:

  • Monday to Friday: 0800 – 2000
  • Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: 0900 – 2000

In an emergency dial 111 for an ambulance, the police or the fire department.


Self parking is available at a rate of $15 per night at the Crowne Plaza and $10 per night at the Millennium Hotel and Copthorne Hotel. Valet parking is available at the Novotel at a rate of $20 for 24 hours, alternatively there is a Wilson car park located near by at a rate of $13 per day. There is ample free parking on site at the Queenstown Events Centre.

Public transport in Queenstown

The centre of Queenstown is located just 15 minutes’ drive from Queenstown International Airport. There is a good public bus network which links the main suburbs and outlying areas of the town. For more information visit

You’ll also find free transport provided by many local activity operators making it easy to get out and about and experience what the region has to offer. Many attractions and accommodation options are located in the downtown area and can be reached easily by foot.

School Visits

If you registered to participate in the School Visits on Tuesday 19 September, please meet at the entrance to the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 0830 hrs. Coaches will depart on time at 0845hrs and return at 1245hrs.
