Experience ZEALANDIA as it transforms from daylight to twilight during this special guided experience. See birds returning to the sanctuary to settle into their nests, the sight of the evening sky, and hear the changing sounds of birds from day to night. Encounter unique species such as wētā, takahē, tuatara and more. You may even experience the first sounds of the nocturnal birds as they wake.

A delightful if peculiar story of the daily life in “Llareggub” (read it backwards), a small Welsh town by the sea. Meet blind Captain Cat, Mog Edwards and his sweetheart Miss Price, Sinbad Sailors, Dai Bread, Polly Garter, Nogood Boyo, Lord Cut-Glass and many others. Walk along Coronation Street, Cockle Row and Donkey Street, down to the little fishing harbour and back to Milk Wood as Dylan Thomas explores their lives, hopes and thoughts in the dreams of a night and the rhythm of a day.
Both a play and a poem, Under Milk Wood was written from the heart, it offers an unforgettable journey into the roots of our common tongue and the soul of Wales. From dark and sombre to hilarious and cynical, it showcases Thomas’ sharp wit and wonderful mischievous use of language.

Weta Workshop Experience - This is now full

Weta Workshop Experience - Located just down the road from the Weta Cave, the Weta Workshop Experience takes place at the dedicated off-premises group tour space. There, an experienced Weta Workshop crew member will take the group on a guided journey through the practical effects crafted for The Lord of the Rings, King Kong, The Chronicles of Narnia, Avatar and much more! Guests will be given an insight to the creative processes and innovative thinking that goes on within the walls of the facilities, told by members of the talented crew from the workshop floor, using the props, models and weapons they helped make for the movies. Includes a private screening of Weta’s exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary and, exclusively for NZPF, an exclusive sculpting demonstration and presentation by one of the senior sculptors at Weta.

Craft Beer Walking Tour - These are now full

Guests to make their own way to start location on Cuba Street 

Our expert guides will tour you around three of our fabulous Wellington breweries, and introduce you to their beers (and maybe even their brewers). You'll taste a range of beers, and stop in at a beer-loving bar for a snack along the way. This tasting includes visits to three breweries, and on-site tastings of three of their beers, along with a beer and a bite at a local bar. It is a great way to experience the Wellington brewery scene with hosts who are behind the scene and can tell you about how it all began and how Wellington became the craft beer capital of NZ.

Delight your senses by introducing you to the wonderful world of beer and cheese. Combine some classic beer styles with some classic cheese, and learn more about how the Ploughman's lunch got so popular. This tastings includes a starter beer on arrival, then five pairing of beer and cheese. Craft Beer College will explain the history of the beer style, and its key features and why it goes so well with the chosen cheese.

Stylist to the Stars Sally-Ann Moffat will lead an exclusive shopping experience this evening. The Old Bank Arcade is housed within a heritage site which was formerly the Bank of New Zealand. Now a boutique shopping mall with something for everyone, the arcade will be exclusive for NZPF delegates between 6.00pm - 8.00pm this evening. Welcomed by top fashionista Sally-Ann Moffat, guests will be given an introduction to the shop owners along with valuable styling advice from Sally, before they have exclusive access to the shops. Sally and her team will be on hand throughout the evening to offer insider advice, tips and trends.

Master the art of making the perfect Italian delicacies with an interactive cooking class. Let the passionate chefs at La Bella Italia guide you on making the perfect gnocchi, preparing the perfect arancini balls or folding successful ravioli. Dividing into small groups on arrival, each group will prepare a different dish, coming together at the end of the class for a delicious tasting. Wine and beer will be available to purchase at your own expense to accompany your experience

Toi Whakaari is New Zealand's oldest drama school and is the leading educator of screen, stage and event professionals in the country. The school is due to begin its performance of “Two Gentlemen of Verona’ by William Shakespeare on Thursday 25th October. This evening, NZPF delegates will have the opportunity of an exclusive pre-performance of the production. See the first full dress rehearsal as the cast make final preparations to the play prior to opening night. Following the performance, take the opportunity to meet the cast and crew who are made up of second year acting students and backstage crew drawn from all years of the school.

NB: This will be the students first full run through of the performance and is a fantastic chance to see a work-in-progress. Please be aware the performance may be slightly start-stop as the director makes final adjustments to the running of the play. Due to this, an exact finish time is hard to determine.
